Transfers: From Miami International Airport ( www.miami-airport.com ), a taxi to Miami Beach costs US$32 (about £20) and takes 20 minutes. A cheaper option is the super shuttle (001 305 871 2000, www.supershuttle.com), a shared-ride van that costs US$22 (about £14) and takes 40-60 minutes from the airport to SoBe. If you aren’t rushed and are travelling light, another option is the new Airport Flyer bus ( www.miami-airport.com/bus_and_rail_info.asp ), US$2.30 each way. It’s an express bus that leaves from the airport daily, 6am-11pm, and stops on Collins Avenue between 41st Street and Lincoln Road. Many larger hotels have their own shuttle buses that will pick you up and drop you back at the airport.
Cruises: Ships dock at the Port of Miami ( www.miamidade.gov/portofmiami ), which is currently the busiest and largest cruise ship port in the world. It is situated on Dodge Island in Biscayne Bay, and opportunely between Miami and Miami Beach with both at arms reach.
